Inspired by a childhood dream

Although aire studio was set up in late 2021 the idea to create a clothing brand for my authentic self, was born years ago, while I was living and working in Budapest.

I was set to have a career in the start-up industry, but it never felt quite right. So after months of thinking about it, I woke up one summer morning knowing what I wanted to do next. I thought “If not now, then when.” and thus I said good bye to one era in my life and welcomed another. Although i was scared & admittedly still AM, everything around me just kept falling into place.

Reviving a family trade

I remember my grandmother telling me about making clothes, but as a kid I didn’t put the two together - she was actually a master seamstress, patternmaker and cutter. For years, she had taught aspiring tailors and seamstresses in the local trade school.

there’s evidence and stories that my great-great-great grandmother was the seamstress of the village our family farm’s in. We still have her old manual machine and there’s probably more to be found.

after finding out where my love for crafts may have come from, I feel a stronger connection to my background and I’m happy that without even knowing it, I decided to continue a family trade.

  • Finding inspiration

It all begins with an idea. I’m inspired by nature, fabric, colours and strong women from the past and present. Inspiration can strike out of nowhere, or I’ll have an idea that develops into the final product. That’s the beauty of inspiration - it’s all around us.

  • Working it out.

Once the idea’s there, I think of the fabrics that I could use and note their particularities. And then comes the patternmaking process, which admittedly for me is the hardest part because I’m self taught. But there’s pattering books and tutorials - it always works out in the end.

  • Putting it all together.

This is my favourite part - sewing. I love seeing all the pieces come together and something beautiful coming out of just fabric, string and buttons. Crafting is magic! Once the piece is done, I personally pack and send it your way, hoping you’ll love it as much as I do.

Learning and growing

I’m almost completely self taught, both when it comes to patternmaking, sewing as well as running a business. What I bring to you is completely authentic & I’m not afraid of admitting that it’s hard, but oh so worth it. What keeps me going & growing is the wish to always be better & make my clients feel amazing in the items I’ve made.

Made-to-order

When I see your order, I cut, sew & send off your garment - I’m involved in every step of the way. I treat each order with utmost care and love, because I believe by giving my all, you’ll always wear good vibes & the piece will last you a lifetime.

Everything I make is made-to-order. There is no overproduction with made-to-order clothing. Nothing will end up in landfill and there won’t be any unwanted stock sitting in boxes collecting dust. i use as many environmentally sustainable fabrics and practices as I can to push change.

I work alone, so it will take 2-3 weeks for me to get the order your way, but you’ll know exactly what has gone into what you wear.
